A great hotel that enriches the visit to a wonderful place
Kinsale and this area of Ireland is a wonderful place to visit. The quality of the service and engagement of all the staff in the Trident Hotel in making our stay a memorable experience was excellent. The room was spacious and the furnishings and facilities to the highest standard, V comfortable bed, good connections, great food, air conditioning, spacious bath and shower room with a wonderful view of the Harbour. Plenty of great places to walk to nearby. Revisit? - We certainly will.
We stayed at the Trident for a two night break in lovely Kinsale. The hotel has undergone a complete refurbishment and everything about it is fabulous. We stayed in two rooms on the first floor-one a suite and an executive room. The suite is situated over the sea and has windows on three sides and a very large balcony-superb decor and space. Executive room was lovely-sea facing and stylish decor-luxurious bedding in both rooms.Housekeeping top notch. Service is outstanding-lunch in the bar was very good as is breakfast. A real treat to stay in this establishment which is really good value and thank you to Tracey(reception) for being super helpful with our booking. A definite new favorite hotel.
Our little Gem
Having stayed at the Trident on a couple of occasions, this was our third visit and most certainly won't be our last! From the warm welcome from all of the staff in all areas of the hotel,to the fabulous location and spectacular views. This hotel has it all!Decided to stay in a suite on this occasion and having stayed in a couple of five star hotels in the previous few months this would rival both, and was without doubt our Favourite! The hotel is immaculately clean in all areas and it is very seldom that a hotel maintains this standard throughout.Dined in the Wharf tavern the first evening and the food was absolutely Superb,so good that we returned the second evening and did not feel the need to venture into Kinsale town,to dine in some of the very well known eateries. Our stay from beginning to end was faultless and this had so much to do with the friendly, welcoming staff as much as the hotel.Well done a very rare find!A special mention to Trish who took the time out of her busy morning to talk to us about a family get together, and did so with such friendliness and professionalism. The management should be so proud of the team, such a rare find!Looking forward to our next visit already!!!

Weekend in Kinsale
Enjoyed a wonderful 2-night stay in the Trident, the hotel was very clean beautiful décor in
the hotel and the room. a fabulous view of the harbour. Staff were very friendly and helpful with directions. The breakfast was amazing, very big selection of fresh fruits.
An Excellent Hotel in all Respects
This hotel is extremely well appointed, the room was very comfortable and the view from our window over the estuary was lovely. Breakfasts were brilliant, looking out on the harbour we watched seals and otters feeding. Car parking was right on the grounds, very easy
We stayed in a suite in this gem and loved every minute! Room was magnificent, bed was comfortable and we had a view of the harbor. Wonderful location to stroll the area and great food at the bar on site. We plan on returning!
Tried the rest found the best
Have just spent four nights at the Trident, sheer bliss.
A warm welcome on arrival, beautiful room with a wonderful view.
So very clean with a superb bathroom with a separate shower.
The breakfasts are delicious, a vast variety of cold and freshly cooked.
The wharf tavern is so friendly with again lovely food or just a drink.
The staff are very attentive, friendly and helpful.
We have already booked a return visit.
Fantastic Weekend Stay.
We booked an executive room with a balcony overlooking the harbour, and I have to say it was terrific. The quality of the decor and equipment, both in the main bedroom and the bathroom was superb, and there was a lovely sofa and a table with chairs to look out over the marina. This room was a bit more expensive than the normal room but on a sunny weekend, it was quite a treat to enjoy a drink on our own private balcony, looking out at the superb views. The breakfast was good, served in a restaurant overlooking the harbour, and we enjoyed a pint each evening on 'The Foredeck'... a small area on the water's edge. We only had one evening meal in 'The Wharf' and it was very reasonable bar food. The hotel was very busy, but the service and the attitude of the staff was great. Everything was spotlessly clean.
Spectacular location on the waterfront in Kinsale
I have stayed at the Trident hotel on several occasions in recent years. The recent refurbishment has brought the hotel to the next level. The staff and management at the hotel are the best and the welcome is genuinely warm.
Modern hotel in a fantastic place
Nice hotel with modern rooms and plenty of common space. Multiple restaurants and meeting space make this hotel unique in a more traditional Irish town. Close to everything in Kinsale. There was a problem with the room keys failing, I had to have them replaced multiple times for both of our rooms, not sure what that was about.
Spent a night in this hotel recently and only wish it could have been a longer visit. It’s one of the best-run hotels I’ve ever been in. Check in was friendly and efficient, decor in the hotel, including our room, was really lovely. Breakfast was way better than average. There was a great selection of cold meats, fruit, cheese etc which were self-service but the hot breakfasts were freshly cooked to order and really good. Our room had everything we could possibly want, nice toiletries, still and sparkling water, a really good tv and great Wi-Fi. There was even a hairdryer which wasn’t attached to anything!! I highly recommend the Trident and hope to return sometime. Well done to all the staff.
Pride & Prejudice
From check in to check out this hotel did everything perfectly. We had an executive room on the third floor with a lovely view. The bed is huge and comfortable and the bathroom is also very large with a bath and separate shower.
We had dinner at the attached pub which was excellent with very good service.
The shops/town are a 3/4 minute walk along the water's edge.
A 'Pierless' Location
Situated on the pier in Kinsale the Trident Hotel is superbly located for visiting the town of Kinsale and the surrounding region. Right on the water, the views from many of the rooms are stunning, On our recent visit, we had a corner room with two large picture windows overlooking the harbour. The check-in was very efficient and friendly and the room was very comfortable and clean. We have stayed there on a number of previous occasions and this time ate in the Wharf Bar for the first time. The food was really good and served by courteous and helpful staff. There are excellent hot and cold breakfast options. The Trident Hotel is a great way to start a trip on the Wild Atlantic Way and worth a visit.
Perfect Location. Excellent in Every Way
Can't wait to go back. Very nice decor. Clean. Friendly staff. Perfect location for walking all over Kinsale. Had a water view and wish we could have stayed longer. On-site restaurants. Very good breakfast.
Outstanding Place to Stay with an Outstanding View!
Ticks all the boxes! This place is up there with the international hotels without the price tag. Secure free parking with a great reception, we were `walk in's' here and greeted by a great reception team, enquired about the rate and then upgraded. The room was outstanding with a jaw-breaking view right on the harbour. The room and the entire hotel were spotlessly CLEAN with great decor and the bed, the bed, the bed was heaven. Could have stayed here for ages. We did not have to leave the hotel as everything is there, bars and restaurants! Breakfast was included and was beautiful.
Would not hesitate to recommend this place.
Outstanding hotel and very wheelchair accessible.
Stayed at the Trident last weekend for two nights. This is a fabulous hotel. Approximately 8 min walk from the town of Kinsale. We had booked the jolly January deal which included a two-course dinner in the wharf tavern on both nights. They have an excellent menu with some excellent fish dishes which both my wife and I ordered both nights and we were not disappointed, the food is outstanding and served by very friendly staff who also took time for a bit of a chat. As a wheelchair user I had requested an accessible room, the room we got (318) was very spacious as was the ensuite which had both roll in shower and bath there was also a lower level hand basin as well as the standard one ( the lower one didn’t have a mirror over it and the mirror over the standard one is too high for a wheelchair user, for this reason, I always bring my own for shaving) there was also a shower chair and all the usual grab rails. The room was spotlessly clean with a view of the river and boats. The bed was large and very comfortable with little noise from the outside. It also had complimentary bottles of water. It is quite a long carpeted corridor from the lift to the room which could be a little difficult for a wheelchair user with reduced arm strength. Breakfast was a very nicely presented buffet of cereals, fruits, cold meats and cheeses. There was also the option of hot breakfast cooked to order, which we had, it was very tasty, hot and plentiful, breakfast staff were just like all the other staff we met, very friendly and helpful. The wharf tavern bar is a very nice bar with great staff. It gets a little quiet there when dinner has finished as most people seem to stroll into town to visit one or more of the great pubs which also have live music, as we did. The wheelhouse bar seems to be the resident's bar and is very comfortable and where we had a bit of a sing-song on the first night with other guests. The route into town is level and along the harbour. I did encounter quite a bit of dog poop on the footpaths in town so as usual keep an eye out for it. There is also a wheelchair accessible public toilet about halfway into town. Overall this is a wonderful hotel which has been recently refurbished. It is warm, comfortable, very clean, serves fantastic food. It is very wheelchair accessible and it also has excellent and friendly staff. I would not bother looking for another place to stay when going to Kinsale again unless the Trident is fully booked. We had a great two nights there, and for that, we thank the staff of the hotel, The bouquet of flowers for my wife was a very nice touch and very much appreciated.
