Civil Ceremonies & Blessings
The Trident Hotel offers ideal facilities for civil ceremonies and blessings. (See notes below on applying for a civil marriage licence.)
All Wedding venues must have an individual inspection for every civil marriage ceremony. The Health Service Executive prohibits establishments from advertising the fact they have been approved to hold such ceremonies. The Trident Hotel has already held several on-site ceremonies.
Rules on Civil Ceremonies
If you are getting married by civil ceremony, you must approach the Registrar of Civil Marriages for the district in which you intend to marry for information on how to proceed. There is no requirement to live in the district where you want to get married.
As well as arranging your civil marriage ceremony there is also a requirement to give 3 months notification to a Registrar. This does not have to be the same Registrar.
